I personally have tried Bio Spot various times on my Bullmastiffs and it is almost useless. It doesn't seem to last very long & does not seem to be very effective against the fleas, let alone the ticks. I use Front Line now or Advantix. They last much longer and water or rain does not wash it off like it would with Bio Spot. So use Front Line Plus or Advantix topically once a month year around.

Mine does!
Vaseline works pretty good and isn't harmful if ingested. Protects the spot and makes it far less tasty.

This shampoo was recommended by our breeder for washing our pup. Haven't tried it yet, so I can only point you that way...... Bio Guard Gentle Pet Shampoo For Dogs, Puppies, Cats and Kittens. Washes up pets without washing out their flea control. Won't remove Bio Spot Advantage Frontline or Zodiac spot-on flea control products. Gentle, water-based formula lathers up quickly and rinses out easily.

No. Some female dogs frequently urinate in the same spot all the time. Vinegar will not keep her urine from killing a spot in the grass.
The spot is usually a spot that is hard for them to itch or they can't itch it at all so when someone itches it, it's sort of relieving. Just think of having poison ivy and not being able to itch without help.
