Communism means no countries and no economy. The resources of the planet belong to everyone and are used to meet human need. It will have to be a worldwide system with no national boundaries. Also there will be no money and no prices, with people having free access to goods and services.
Technically, true Communism describes society and economy but not government. As a society, communism has no social classes, workers contribute to the welfare of society as a whole according to their abilities and take from society according to their need. There is no such thing a private property. As an economy, communism holds that the means of production are not owned by anyone or any thing (not even government), but are operated by administrators for the good of society. As to government, true communism states that there would be no government. Karl Marx postulated that as socialism evolved into communism the "state" i.e. government, would wither away because it would become unnecessary. Thus by definition, no government can be called "communist." The fact that there are countries with so-called "communist governments" proves that those countries are not true communist countries. According to Marx, there would be a socialist government but not a communist government.
Communism is a first and foremost a type of economy, where all materials and services are owned and distributed by the government. So, to answer your question, communist countries have communist economies.
Communist countries have /used to have a so-called 'managed' economy. This type is not based on the dynamics of supply and demand in the market, but on Government-dictated directives and targets.
There is no certain "type" of economy attached to a country being communist. I would say you could rule out Capitalism as a type, but the three generally speaking types of economies are Market, Planned and Mixed. You need to verify specifically with whatever country you have in mind to see what type of government, economy, social structure, etc. it has. Hope that helps.
Communism implies the abolition of money and of buying and selling, hence there will be no economy. China etc are/were state capitalist, which is quite different.
North Korea, Cuba and China are communist countries with command economies, as opposed to market economies or mixed economies. The former Soviet Union also had a command economy.
depends on the country China has a control economy, they control their currency to control economic globalization for the world economies that are dependent on them such as the United States

It's not. Communism is a type of an economy. The UN does not have a government or an economy. It is a body where representatives of nations meet. Some of those countries are communist (fewer an fewer).

Capitalist governments have varying degrees of economic control. Communism has no government and no economy (because no money or markets).
