Certain fish eat certain corals and other fish break open calciferous "coral skeletons" to eat the organisms that reside in them. Other fish with tear open corals to eat the corals already consumed food. It is all a balance. Some corals even eat fish!

Coral is not a type of fish, but it is an aquatic animal. Confusingly, its closest well known relatives are the jellyfish, which, although they are called jellyFISH, are not actually fish.
