Yes, the value of the land alone dictates that the acerage essential for small grain production will not be available to meet the bakery needs. Pizza, McDonalds, and your morning toast are dependent on the supply of wheat flour (probably from Kansas, Nebraska or Oklahoma). Certainly Hawaii could be virtually self sustaining but the Value Added by some products that they do produce limits what the available acerage will be used to produce.
