Yes, free will is different from freedom.

Free will is you wanting to do something without anyone having told you to do that, it is you doing something that was your own idea, that came from you, that you decided to do being only influenced by you.

Freedom is having space, time, to do what you want, it is not having anyone to stop you.

Hope this gives you a more complete idea. Hope I helped :)

AnswerYes.

The phrase "free will" for most people is connected with the religious interpretation of a supreme being granting human beings to make their own decisions and to suffer the consequences of such.

Freedom is based on democratic governance which does not mean one is completely free to do as one chooses, simply one is free to act within the confines of the established laws and "norms" of the society in which he or she lives.

ANSWER

Free will is the mechanism by which we act when not compelled to do so by some other force. Freedom is self governance. There are no limitations to free will as even when we act against our own free will because we were compelled or coerced to do so, we acquiesced to that coercion of our own free will. There are some who choose death before being compelled to act in a certain way and when they do so, the do so of their own free will. Conversely, we will murder, steal, and imped justice of our own free will. Freedom and self governance is a legal system where by all people are accepted as the holders of the inherent political power. Under this form of governance all people are equal under the law, and in possession of certain natural rights that pre-exist any government or union established. The federal government formed is done so to protect the rights of the individual and the elected government is granted temporary power to enforce the laws of the land.

We are free because of our own free will and in order to remain free there are times when we must surrender our will to the law in order to remain free. Under this legal system what it means to surrender our will to the law is to recognize that any right that I claim is as valid as the lack of injury allows. All people have natural rights and one persons right can not abrogate or derogate the rights of others, nor can anyone else's rights abrogate or derogate your rights. This is the law of the land. Under this law if I can't abrogate or derogate your rights, and you can't abrogate or derogate mine then any government formed most certainly can't and this is how people may peaceably govern themselves. That is freedom.

AnswerFreewill is the freedom of the will to choose on its own accord. Every decision you make either leads to freedom or imprisonement. Knowing this truth is very important because it leads to freedom or to experiencing hell on earth. It's using your freewill to to choose truth over appeal(public, emotional, personal etc) that will give you freedom. To be hands on: Every terrorist attack was a matter of freewill, but did it lead to freedom, Every person with AIDS, who had unprotected sex used freewill, Every child molester used freewill. Freedom only comes when we choose truth over a lie, when we choose right over wrong, when we deny feelings that are enticing because we know it leads to emotional pain or distress. For example, if a lady simply goes to bed with a man on account of her freewill, because she finds him to be cute, but she ends up pregnant and single; then her career is put on hold, sometimes the child future becomes her future, she is frustrated and hate guys and locks her heart in a cage, she struggles financially and cries in privacy. You see she had the free will to do as she did, but it led her not just to have her future locked up, and her life, but she now locks up her heart. To conclude, Freewill to choose truth over emotions, to choose truth over lies, to choose right over wrong equals freedom, but the freewill that chooses wrong becausse everybody is doing it, or chooses personal impulsies and feelings over truth or reality will walk into a snare. R.I.

Another view:

Freedom can be limited; free will cannot. Here is the best example I know of. Imagine someone is pointing a gun at your head, and says, 'Bite your tongue off or I will shoot you'. It would be difficult to have less freedom; but your free will is unaffected.

Free will refers to the ability to make choices and decisions of our own accord, while freedom generally refers to the state of being free from constraints, limitations, or external control. In essence, free will is about internal choice-making, while freedom is about external conditions.
