Any plastic is recyclable. The issue is whether or not there is a market form the eaiest products to form, or whether it is not "short-term cheaper" to just draw more crude oil into making new plastic.

HDPE (2) is recyclable because it is a thermoplastics and may be melted. From my minimal travels, it is one of the most popular thermoplastics to be recycled along with PET(1) and PP(5). Your recycling center probably has a web site or literature at your public library.

Yes,HDPE may be recycled. HDPE is the thermoplastecs which is made by the polymarisation of ethelene. High densith poly ethelene is recyclabe.pipe-hdpe.com

Unless it is a special formualtion, yes. Plastic bags are polyethylene, and most recyclable plastic containers are PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or HDPE (high density polyethylene).
