The two are very different, and in order to answer the question with any educated answer, the sort of immigration you're referring to is required.
Also, the question is an opinion-based question, there is no one definitive answer.
If I had to answer without a full explanation of which immigration you're referring to, I would have to say it's a benefit either way.
