He impersonated Hitler (under a slightly altered name) in the film The Great Dictator. Everybody noticed that Hitler looked like Chaplin, so he thought he might as well commercialise it. By chance, they were exactly the same age, born the same week.
It's very doubtful. Chaplin was banned from Germany by Hitler himself for being a Jew (important to note that Chaplin was not actually Jewish).

Adolf Hitler had a bowl hair cut, his hair was dark brown, his eyes are brown and he had a moustache that was meant to be a French styled moustache with the two points at the end but the sister told him to have a unique moustache and to take the points off. His moustache, after he cut the points off, was a random rectangle on the top of his lip. Hitler was not skinny or fat, he was regular - chubby. He was tall and when he walked, he walked as if he had a problem with his back and he could bend it, he walked all straight like a brick.
