It is only a good sign if you wanted to breed snails. Snails are pests that can destroy the ecosystem in your aquarium, regardless of the type of aquarium. If you are breeding snails (for whatever reason), use an aquarium devoted to your snail breeding. As others have said about snail infestations, when they die they decay, producing ammonia and other poisons. With fish, this can lead to lowered immune function, disease, and eventually death.
