It's not what you're saying that is problematic; it's what you are not saying. Bars are legal establishments in most places, and going to them is fine. That should be obvious to anyone. That said, are you underage? Do you know or do you suspect that you have a drinking problem? Have loved ones complained or told you that you have a problem? Are you encouraging a friend with a drinking problem to go to bars? Is going to the bar causing problems with a relationship you are in? Do you have children who would like to spend time with you, but you prefer time at the bar? There is any number of other possible questions that might put a different spin on the answer. If you are of age and you are asking the question, that suggests to me that something you aren't saying is really the key to your answer. Maybe you are fine, but I work every day with substance addicts of every kind. If you are heading down that road there is no happy ending; you would be wise to get off.
