the 1.5 dual core can handle 2 threads at the same time and 3.0 single core can only handle 1 thread both of them switch threads rapidly if you have CPU-z you will find that the only difference in number of threads (the number of cores in single core is 2)
short answer : the dual core is faster in multitasks
the single core is faster in single task (like most of games)
2.5 GHz is better than 2.1 GHz. It is because it is the latest processor. It will be faster than 2.1 GHz.
dual core with 2.7 is enough. And you can chooose a better graphics card too. That is better
Yes, and no. A 1.8 Ghz processor will process things at... 1.8 Ghz. A dual core processor will process things at 1.8Ghz. A dual core, however, can process many different things at the same time alot easier and efficiently then a single core processor can. For games, applications, ect, if the program can be multithreaded, then you will see a huge increase in computing speeds for the program. As for games, anything more then 2.6 Ghz is not needed. The extra money needed to bump up from a 1.8 Ghz processor to, say, a 2.8 Ghz, would be more then enough money to buy you a much better processor.
yes the minimum spec is a GHz processor you should be fine.
The 2.66 Ghz Quad core is the better processor. the quad core has a top manufacture speed "no over clocking" of 10.64 Ghz and the core duo and 6.66 Ghz manufacture speed. UNLESS the core duo has a wopping load of cache speed witch is a hole nothing story
No doubt that amd turion x2 is better than athlon x2. So, I would suggest you to go for turion. But I want to know if core 2 duo is better than the turion x2. Any suggestions.
Yes, because the computer with a 2.4 GHz dual core works nearly twice as fast than a 2.5 single core.
It depends on the processor, if its a dual core or quad, possibly, it depends if the Sims 3 is a single or multi threaded application, which i don't now, and the processor type
Duo Core means that it has DUAL CORES, meaning 2 cores. So if its a 2.0 GHz Duo Core that means that you double that # and you get 4.0 GHz total. Basically the more cores and the higher GHz, the faster the processor is.
It's impossible to answer that question. All else being equal, higher is better. However, a six-core 2.8 GHz processor will blow a single-core 3.0 GHz processor out of the water for some applications.
yes it will do even better because a quad processor that is 2.33 ghz means that it has 4 processors and that each one is 2.33 ghz... therefore by doing 4 x 2.33 you get a resulting answer of 9.32 ghz. So yes the quad core processor will run the game and in fact it will run it very well... by the way i have a 2.5 ghz quad core processor. yes it will do even better because a quad processor that is 2.33 ghz means that it has 4 processors and that each one is 2.33 ghz... therefore by doing 4 x 2.33 you get a resulting answer of 9.32 ghz. Intel is the maker of Core 2 Duo Processor T6500 which was released in the second quarter of 2009. T6500 is a 64-bit dual-core processor with a clock speed of 2.1 GHz.
