sometimes. it is okay when there is a male and a female so they will mate and have puppies, but, it is not if you have a male and a male because sometimes they will have a dogfight (sometimes, females fight male dogs)

∙ 16y agoYou would have to have double the food, double training, double the cleaing, etc. You would also have to get the dogs fixed if it was girl and boy (though I would recomend doing that anyway). On the plus side, they would end up being happier and you would be able to leave the house more. They would keep each other company in the pound or wherever you would have to send them when you go on vacation. And wherever you live would be safer since you would have not just one but two warning alarms. Plus they keep each other in check. For example, one may be hyper and the other calmer and the hyper one would keep the calm one active and the calm one would keep the hyper one under control.

I have 1 dog and I really want another one however I do not know if it is better to have 1 or 2? On a night my dog is always barking and keeping people awake because he is lonely and wants someone to stay down with him, also he enjoys it when we go on walks and he can interact with other dogs! If people do think it is a good idea then please suggest ways that I can persuade my parents! Thank you x

It depends what your intentions are being. If you intend your dogs to breed, you would have a male and a female for obvious reasons. Other than that it doesn't really matter what sex your dogs are. Keep in mind males tend to be teritorial.
