here is an excellent site on aloe vera: http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/alt/aloe_faq.htm specifically on the topic of an overdosage: "Overdose/long term usage can cause loss of electrolytes (potassium, albuminuria, and hematuria) and fluid imbalance. Loss of electrolytes may cause hyperaldosteronism, inhibition of intestinal motility, and the enhancement of cardioactive steroid. Potassium deficiency can lead to muscular weakness, especially with concurrent use of cardiac glycosides, diuretics, and corticosteroids. Overdose can also cause heart arrhythmias, nephropathies, edemas, accelerated bone deterioration. albuminuria and hematuria. (but these side effects are rare) Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (stop usage and report it to your health care professional if they are continuing or bothersome): A red color may occur in urine (harmless and usually goes away when usage s.o.s. Intestinal cramps (if this occurs immediately lower the dosage)"

Aloe vera actually has spines, not true thorns. They are to protect the plant from damage from animals that may want to eat them

No, Aloe Vera cannot be eaten raw. but the jelly can, provided you are sure that it has been grown in a safe and clean ambiance. preferably by applying the jelly externally...i.e on the body can show better results. We eat it all the time in our office almost daily... take a look at our website under About Aloe Vera here: usfarmsinc.com/about-aloe-vera
Aloe gel is not edible as such but it is prescribed in Ayurveda to eat as a medicine
It contains sugars (in chemical sense - long chain polysacharides), but not the sugar you eat.
Eat more healthy vegies & fruits other than meat.Drinkin' Aloe Vera also helps you loose fat, lastly, exsersize also helps.Oops.............I spelled excersize wrong!Some1 help meh! Drinking Aloe Vera is posnoise...
Aloe Vera juice claims to detoxify your system and your colon. It would be a better choice than cranberry juice since it contains high amounts of sugar. Sugar is what quickly turns into fat so avoid all sugary drinks. Also avoid breads and cereals because it contains carbohydrates that will turn to sugar and get stored easily to fat. Exercise vigorously daily and eat frequent small meals to boost your metabolism. Eat animal fat and lots of dark green vegetables.
If you mean the aloe vera plant(succulent cactus-like plant,) nothing. It will taste bad, but shouldn't hurt you
