YES
It can depend what state you live in. And probably also if the dog bites anyone. Just shooting a dog because it's on your lawn probably is not a good idea since it may not be against the law in your state but the owner (your neighbor) probably has a gun too.
No, that is considered animal abuse and they can be arrested. If they want to get rid of the dog, they should have a vet 'put it to sleep'. Or give it to someone else/put it in a shelter. Never end a dog's life so barbarically
It is illegal and you should'nt even be sick enough to kill the animal if it is'nt about to hurt you or your animals. You will get sentenced to jail for quite a few days.It is considered animal cruelty-and it is.
no and people will go to jail if they do for many years and its the same with any other animal
If you are intentionally hurting the dog, then yes, because it is considered animal cruelty.
That depends on what country or state that you live in.
Yes, because you got the dog.
Most areas have laws in place that allow farmers to shoot dogs that attack their livestock, so the answer would be 'yes'.
Not necessarily; it depends on the circumstances. In some states it is legal to shoot a dog if it is bothering your livestock. You could also shoot a dog to put it out of it's misery if it is wounded or dying.
You pay your neighbour what the chicken is worth, then keep your dog tied up or securely fenced in your yard, so he doesn't do it again! Your neighbour has the right to SHOOT your dog if it attacks his livestock!!

You need to make sure your dog never gets loose again so it does not get into that situation again. You need to talk with the livestock owner and offer to pay for damages if the livestock was killed or if the attack causes veterinary expense to the owner. I do not know where you live but in our state a livestock owner has the right to shoot and kill any dog that is either chasing or attacking their livestock. You as the owner would be responsible for your dog being killed since you allowed it into the situation.
"He took the gun in his hand and pushed his glasses to the top of his head. Then he said, 'I havenβt shot a gun in thirty years'."
In some jurisdictions, yes. In the UK, if a dog is worrying* livestock, the farmer is allowed to shoot it. (*) 'worrying' in this context means to pull/tear with teeth, not simply 'causing concern'.
The tibetan mastiff is the strongest livestock dog. It has a ferocious temper and is huge.
Carlson's solution to the problem of Candy's old dog in "Of Mice and Men" is to shoot the dog to put it out of its misery. He believes that the dog is suffering and that it's the most humane thing to do. Candy eventually agrees to let Carlson shoot his dog.
It is legal in the state of Indiana to shot someone only if they are facing you and intend to cause you or a loved one harm. I do not believe that a dog qualifies under these guidelines.
