One goldfish can live in a 20 gallon tank, plus an additional 10 gallons per goldfish that you would like to add (40 gallons for 3 goldfish).
This may sound like a lot to people, but goldfish can grow very large, and they are very messy fish which produce a high amount of waste.
You need ample filtration, and regular weekly water changes of at least 50% to keep the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates at safe levels.
yeah, but you might need to buy, wait let me think, YOU WILL Have to buy a bigger tank rules are one inch of fish per gallon. in other words, NO.
Yes, probably, but it depends on how big the fish are and how much structure is in the tank.
cold water fish should have about 1 gallon or 4.55 litres of water per 1 inch of fish (not including tail) but also allow plenty of room for future growth.
Around 10dGH is good but they will be OK anywhere from 5 to 20.
You may want to add a liner to be on the safe side, but you could have 2 fancy goldfish, one one common or single tailed goldfish. (goldfish grow big and fast)
Yes as long as it can't fit in an other fishes mouth it will be perfectly fine. A fishes tank can never be too big.
no goldfish and tropical fish cannot live together. gold fish are cold water fish and tropical fish are tropical fish. also only 2 goldfish can go in a 30 gallon, because goldfish make a lot of waste.
no
If they are fancy goldfish (the plump looking ones) then 6 or so would do well in an 80 gallon when fully grown if they are common goldfish, then 2 maybe 3 when full grown would be ok as they reach a whole foot long! This may seem like its not many fish for a large tank however goldfish are real poo machines and good filtration is a must.
Goldfish cannot live in bowls. Fancy goldfish need at least 20 gallons for the first fish, and 10 gallons minimum for any additional goldfish. This means that for two goldfish, the smallest tank you should have is 30 gallons.
That means your fish is ill
noo
Some say they need a 5 gallon tank, but a 1 gallon tank should be ok if they are by theirselves.
I started off in a 20 gallon tank with my 2 BP, 1 oscar, and a few others, it was very hard to keep up with the water changes as they got bigger. They also faught alot. Now they are much happier in a 50 gallon. the water says cleaner too! So to answer your question, 20 gallons is ok for as long as they are still small and not too many tank mates. But as they say 'the bigger the better'.
A well set up and properly filtered 30 gallon tank would be OK.
