No It is advisable to find another type of pain medication unless specified by your doctor.
During clinical trials Naprosyn/Naproxin/Aleve reported side effects which included crohns patients. Gastrointestinal bleeding, and ulceration were noted.
As always, see your doctor about this advise and ask if another medication might be better suited to your requirements.
i have had crohns disease for 16 years and it never goes away. it can remain fairly inactive for a while, but anything could trigger a flare up. best thing to do is to take meds and strict diet.
well he might not realize it but if he keeps this up he is gonna die. so you might wanna tell him that. take away the smoking crap and watch him carefully. smoking is VERY VERY bad for people with crohns disease even if youre around people who smoke and you have crohns its VERY bad for you, youre at a risk of death. so imagine whats its like if youre the one that smokes and you have crohns disease.
The symptoms can be similar. The tests done however would confirm which disease the doctors were dealing with. H Pylori is distinctive as a corkscrew shaped gram negative bacterium. Biopsy from the stomach lining is used among other tests. Treatment in some cases can be somewhat similar with the use of metronidazole and other antibiotics. It can take several treatments but unlike crohns disease, h. pylori is curable.
well my sister has crohns disease, and it affects everyone. but to answer your question...it changes their diet so they cant have certain foods, they have to take their meds or whatever they do to control it everyday or when needed, and deal with the pain and other medical problems that come with it. i know of a website that might help but im not sure so I'll give it to you anyway. www.ccfa.org

Yes. I see it prescribed that way often.
If it makes you feel better you should not have any problems with massage of any sort. While nothing cures Crohn's disease yet, take every opportunity to do whatever feels good and relaxes you.
Experts are not sure, and studies and research are ongoing. Several theories exist but unfortunately, none of these theories has yet been scientifically proven. Most experts agree that the immune system of people with Crohn's disease reacts abnormally - it treats good bacteria, foods, and other substances that are good for us as foreign and unwanted substances. In other words, the patients own immune system attacks. This leaves us with the question, does Crohn's disease cause an abnormal immune system response, or does an abnormal immune system response cause Crohn's disease

Your headache goes away. Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen sodium can possibly cause inflammation and worsen bleeding in the small intestine. If a Crohns patient is already experiencing these symptoms is advisable to seek other forms of pain relief. Not all patients will experience this however. People with Crohns disease should always consult with their gastroenterologist before taking NSAIDs.
Aleve is naproxin sodium, chemically unrelated to the other NSAIDs.
Probably not. Crohn's disease can flare up at anytime. It is not curable. It can go into remission for years and re-appear very suddenly. Stress often is blamed for flare-ups and what can be more stressful than basic training or a posting to a war zone. Army doctors will probably not take the chance.
