YES THERE IS A LOT OF TRASH THAT CAN GET IN THE VALVE TO MAKE IT LEAK. YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO CLEAN IT

FURTHER

I found that with the pump running, the pool water was rising as apparently the pump was pulling water out of the ground. This was with the pool water low and the skimmer plugged off in order to try to filter after a bad storm. When I shut off the pump, the pool water went down as the valve did not seat properly.

Where is the hydrostatic drain valve?

The Hydrostatic valve is usually on the lowest part of the pools floor. The hydrostatic valve is there to protect the pool from being lifted by ground water in the event that it is empty. it allows the ground water under the pool to get into the pool thereby stopping it from floating out of the ground on top of the ground water.

How does a hydrostatic valve work?

A Hydrostatic valve is basically a plug that stop water coming down out of the pool, but when the water pressure under the pool gets higher then the pressure in the pool it will let water into the pool from underneath in order to stop the pool from floating in ground water.

Pool was without water pushed up on one end.best possible remedy?

you will have to dig it out and put it back in the ground check for broken pipes and is at all possible install a hydrostatic valve so it wont happen again

Should the hydrostatic valve be left open when it is raining?

A "relief valve" can only be accessed when the pool is empty, and no swimming pool should ever be left empty. The only exception is when absolutely necessary due to repair or resurfacing, and that should be completed within the shortest possible time. Any pool that is empty, and that has a relief valve, should have the valve removed for the entire time, regardless of the weather forecast. A "hydrostatic" relief valve opens and closes when needed as it attempts to equalize the pool water pressure with the ground water pressure. Human intervention is not involved because the pool is still filled. Hydrostatic valves are great in theory, but seldom work after a few years.

What is the function of foot valve in a well?

A foot valve, in relation to a water well, is a check valve at he bottom of a well to keep the water from running back into the well from the pump when the pump is not running. If the check valve does not hold the water the pump will lose it's prime and will not pump water.

Does the pool main drain-hydrostatic valve need to be connected to the skimmer box?

the hydrostatic valve is only to equalize pressure of ground water to that of the pool the only time it does anything is when the water table becomes higher in the ground water than in the swimming pool . it doesn't connect to anything. it is simply to keep the pool shell from floating out of the ground

What is the name of the force used in water?

The question is formulated vaguely when dealing with physical systems containing water is it possible to use the description of hydrostatic. It assumes, that the system does not move, hence static. I.e. Hydrostatic pressure is the pressure that water exerts on an object.

Can you drain a pebble tec pool in summer?

Yes just be careful that the hydrostatic valve works in case of ground water causing the pool to start floating.

Why is the water still running in the tub when the shower stem is turned fully in shower setting?

The valve is not be diverting all the water. This valve may need to be replaced.

How much water should you leave in a swimming pool after you drain it?

If you don't have a hydrostatic valve on the bottom I would suggest at least a third. otherwise it may start floating in ground water if it is present.

What is a hydrostatic paradox?

Hydrostatic paradox means that the weight of water can be used to counterbalance the weight of anything else.

I want to drain a pool to work on the re-plaster how long can I leave the pool empty?

For as long as you like just make sure that the pool has a hydrostatic valve or some other means to stop it from floating out of the ground if it starts raining or the water table underneath it rises. In gunite and concrete pools, the hydrostatic relief valve is located in the bottom drain. Sump or ShopVac the remaining water covering the drain, take out the screws, and remove the cover. Again, using a ShopVac, remove the water just beneath the cover and look inside the drain. There are two possibilities: 1) a relief valve that can be unscrewed and removed, or 2) a second pipe that doesn't point toward your pump and filter. Inside this pipe is a hydrostatic relief valve that probably won't open because of sand or dirt clogging it. Using the handle of a short screwdriver, tap the valve inside the pipe (you may not see it, but it is there) several times until water comes into the pool. There may also be hydrostatic relief valves near the bottom of the steep slope that can be removed. Good luck. -Bill

Why won't the hot water stop running even with the main shut off valve shut off?

The valve seat or washer on the main valve are not seating/sealing properly.

In a pool what is the white circle thing in the deep end?

This is the hydrostatic valve. If the pool is emptied it is removed to relieve water pressure caused by the surrounding water table If not removed a pool can float out of the ground.

How can you move ground water away from an inground pool dig?

Put a gravel pit at the bottom with a means of pumping it empty. Make sure you fit a hydrostatic valve to the pool.

Can rainwater float a pool?

possible hydrostatic pressure sandy soil and enough rain water pool could lift up like a bucket in a bathtub full of water.

How shall you make the hydrostatic pressure test or the steps to follow?

procedures in testing hydrostatic pressure in fluid(water)

How do you know if your hot water heater valve is open?

You know it by touching and feeling the pipes on the hot water side; if they are hot, there is water running through the pipes and obviously the heater valve is open on hot side.

How is running water possible in the house?

You could leave your sink on.

Have a half a foot of algae water in my intex pool Do you treat it first or fill it up then treat it?

If you are not worried about the pool floating on a high water table or you have a hydrostatic valve on the bottom. I would drain it clean it and start again.

Did Romans make toilets on the side of the road?

No. Roman toilets required, as ours do, running water. This was not possible at roadside. If nature called, they "used the bushes".No. Roman toilets required, as ours do, running water. Constant water running in commode?

Install a new fill valve inside the tank. It is easy.

How do you stop water constantly running in tank?

Replace flapper or check fill valve for problem.

Where is the water valve on a washing machine?

Usually in back, but it may not be a valve on the machine itself. Look for a faucet with a hose running to the machine. If you are referring to the internal valve that turns the water on and off when the machine is cycling, that varies with the make and model of the machine.

What is the purpose of a hydrostatic valve on a swimming pool?

It is used to allow rising ground water into the bottom of a pool to stop boyancy , which could potentially lift the entire pool like a boat.
