Lines of latitude and longitude enable any point on the world to be pinpointed. On such a large continent as Australia, the coordinates depend on what is considered the geographic centre (unless a particular city is named). According to the internet, the coordinates are 25.2744° S, 133.7751° E
The geographical centre is at 25º36'36."4S and 134º21'17."3E, which is approximately 200km south of Alice Springs.
Finding coordinates on an Australian map is easier if the lines of latitude and longitude are printed on the map, or is marked round the map's border.

First, look on the map to find the line of latitude that the coordinates reference. If the exact line of latitude isn't shown on the map, estimate it by looking at the lines that are available. Then look on the map to find the longitude line that the coordinates reference. Once you have found the two lines, follow them both towards the point where they intersect. That is the location the coordinates reference.
Use the latitude and longitude lines on the map along with the coordinates. Find where the two coordinates meet and that will be the location you are looking for.
In an atlas or on the web.
Every point on Earth has a different set of geographic coordinates. If your maps have latitude and longitude grids printed on them, then you can estimate the coordinates of any place you see on the map, or find a place if you have its coordinates.
A geographic coordinate system is a coordinate system that enables every location on the Earth to be specified by a set of numbers. The coordinates are often chosen such that one of the numbers represent vertical position, and two or three of the numbers represent horizontal position. A common choice of coordinates is latitude, longitude and elevation.

New Zealand is southeast of Australia on the map. Find Australia and you will find New Zealand.
