Yes, you have to unbolt the seat from the floor. There is no quick release to take the seat out. I called the dealer and they told me this. ----- I just removed the sliding middle seat from my 2006 Eddie Bauer Expedition. It really wasn't too difficult. There are 7 bolts that need to be removed, each covered with a plastic piece. Just pry up the plastic cover and remove the bolt with a wrench (they're tight!). Then the seat will just lift out. When you get the seat out, replace the bolt and push the plastic cover back on. You'll be left with some cutouts in the carpet where the seat was.. I just covered that with a floor mat, it looks great. Here is a picture of the finished result: http://s188349088.onlinehome.us/ removedseat.jpg (remove space)
depending on what window your replacing, top rear sliding, middle sliding or lower sliding, the steps are a little different. To get the lower ones out, the manual says; move middle and upper sliding window to full down position, remove "flocked rubber" from both sides, to just above the top of the upper and middle sliding windows, cut the rubber approx. 2" above the the top of the upper and middle sliding windows. Start with the upper sliding window, remove one of the latches and raise the window until it clears the flocked rubber, the upper window can be removed by guiding the side without the latch into the deep portion of the channel until the other side clears the channel and can be removed.
