AnswerAbsolutely, as long as the parents respected and supported the child's choice to enter. If the parents were against the child's entry into the service, it is highly innapropriate. AnswerI don't see why not. Maybe that person is extremely proud of his or her uniform and they are hoping that their parent has gone to heaven and can see them in their uniform. We really never know what's going on in a child's head, give them a bit of space and don't pick on them for what they decided to wear. They lost a parent or parents and it's not right for someone to question what they chose to wear. Instead of questioning them, why not try being there for them as they are going to need lots of love and understanding. Further pointIt may vary from culture to culture. In Britain military uniform is acceptable just about anywhere for any occasion. Further Further PointThe child may not have any other formal clothing for such an occasion and really the child is perhaps doing what they think would most honor their parent's memory. If the Child has not yet graduated from basic training they may be required to wear that particular uniform.

Who should get the flag over a coffin at a military funeral?

The Flag is provided by the US Military during a military funeral. All US Servicemen/women who were honorably discharged or Generally Discharged under Honorable Conditions from service are entitled to have Military honors at their burial. This service is provided by the US Military, and a detail can be provided by the nearest military installation if available. When one cannot be provided, an honor guard can be arranged with the Local chapter of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) chapter. MORE SPECIFICALLY -- The funeral home typically obtains the flag from the Department of Veterans Affairs, but through the local U.S. Post Office. A flag request form must be presented. The family may also submit this form directly and request delivery.

Where can you get a copy of her birth certificate if you are a military service member and your daughter was born in Germany and you lost her birth certificate?

Birth, death and marriage certificates are (almost universally) public documents. As such copies will be retained by the state (Germany) where your daughter was borne - it is also possible that as you were on military service your daughters birth may have been registered by the military in your country of origin (i.e. in the US). You will need to know:- When - the date on which your daughter was born - and if possible the date of registering her birth Where - town/state and hospital or address. Father / Mother - the names of her parents. Armed with this if there is still a military establishment in Germany write to them and ask for help or failing this ask for advice from your embassy in Germany about where you have to go to contact the Germen public records office.
