its a chain, never
Factory recommendation is 90,000 miles. If it is a timing CHAIN and not a belt, it doesn't require changing. It should last the life of the engine.
the 3.0 h6 has a chain,it doest need changing
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine. A timing belt however should be changed around 100K.
belt which needs changing at 100k miles or 8 years which ever is soonest
No, uses a timing chain. It should never need changed. If you take halfway good care of the vehicle it will last 200,000+ miles. I have owned two old toyota celicas with timing chains and they both had over 250K miles on them without ever changing the chain..
IT HAS A TIMING CHAIN AND SHOULD BE CHANGED AT 100,000 MILES
Saturn does not recommend changing the timing chain at any mileage. If fact I owned a 96 SL2 that went 240,000 miles and never had the timing chain changed. When I later pulled the engine apart I found the timing chain to still be very tight and it showed no signs of ware. Also read this... "It needs to be changed if it has excessive slack in it. Usually this is indicated by a noise that can be heard at idle and felt in the valve cover. It usually doesn't go away with increased speed. If you replace the chain, I'd also recommend changing the tensioner."
There is no reason to change t-chain unless you are having problems with the timing.GM does not say anything about changing the T- chain. I've got a old 93 Chevy truckwith 285 thousand miles and have never changed the Timing Chain RUNS GREAT
No, it has a timing belt and it must be replaced every 105,000 miles. The 4 cylinder has a timing chain.
4 cylinder has a timing chain, V6 has a timing belt that must be replaced every 110,000 miles.
My 2004 Focus PZEV has a timing chain. 103,000 miles with no problems.
