Answer I had a friend once that was like that. It turned out that her husband was very controlling and didn't want her to have any friends. His excuse to her was he didn't like that particular friend. He would tell her that he feels that friend was (fill in the blank) and that's why he didn't like her. What it really was is that he was very controlling and manipulative and simply didn't want her to have any friends. In addition, he was abusive to her, told her it was her fault that he was behaving that way, and didn't want her to possibly tell a friend what was really going on. Or, it could be he really doesn't like you for some reason and your friend would not want to tell you that.
