Is it wrong to put an adult cat on the ground by grabbing it by the back of their neck with no support when the cat is clawing people in the face at the top of a cat post for no reason?

My question is .. why are people putting their faces within reach of the cat's face? I would say the people are At Fault... so antagonizing an animal distressed/upset/angry while the animal is in its own safety space (his/her catpost). So, the person who is disciplining the animal (who is defending itself) is absolutely in the wrong. A better idea would have been "gee, I think my cat wants to be left alone, please stay away from him/her". OR THEY JUST WANT TO PLAY! my cat got aggressive once and we could not figger out why, till i got it a little remote controlled car from the dollar store and now he's all friendly if someone remeamders to play with him.
