Klinefelter's is not a hereditary disease in that it is not passed from one generation to the next. Klinefelter's occurs when the mother's egg does not separate correctly, so instead of there being one X in the egg's chromosome, there are two. So when it joins with the father's sperm, it forms an XXY. But the man with Klinefelter's is almost invariably infertile.
