¿Sin? For pagans, sin is a failure to follow one's own ethical standards, usually because of difficult conditions surrounding them. For the pagan sins are personal issues, dealt between them and their gods, not cultural.
Spells are stories told to change people, and through them the world. Chants are the same only sung. Charms and talismans are the same represented in symbolic form. A sin in these areas would be found in failing to live up to one's own standard of conduct.
As for Magic. Please explain what you mean, please. Magic is, after all, amoral, and again the sin is in the magus, not the subject itself.
Magic: «Pertaining to the Magi»
no spells no
Prohibited. Black magic does exist but is a sin(haram) to practise.
All REAL magic is a sin. God created us the way he wanted. He is the only one who can do everything. By practicing any type of magic (witchcraft, ouiji board, black and white magic, etc.) we're saying that we want to be like god and maybe better. Answer 2: Practicing white magic is not a sin at all. Simply because one is essentially asking beneficent spirits (or "God" if you are a Judeo-Christian-Muslim) to project positive energy in some way and for a beneficial or altruistic purpose. But isn't that what happens when someone prays for someone else? Like for someone to be healed? Exactly. Which is why it is not a sin. It is all a matter of spiritual focus in the asking.
Depends on your belief system. Most people see magic and magicians as entertainment, which is what they are, what they are designed to be.
I suggest that it is (sin A)^2 + (cos A)^2 = 1
According to the Bible any form of magic including: Astrology Numerology Diviniation Psychi Readings Casting Spells/Enchantments/Incantations Cursing (even if its as simple as telling someone to "go to Hell") And much, much more are all sins garaunteeing the practitioner a one way ticket to hell. Since all magic is, in essence a "dark art" (despite what the wiccans and neo-pagans claim) its all a sin. BUT that's only the Bible's perspective. And, to be fair, one very strictly literal interpretation. The argument over what constitutes magic and when that magic becomes a sin has been debated by serious theologians for a very long time. Some theologians would go so far as to say that asking for ANYTHING while in prayer was a form of magic, since it implies you know better than God what you should get or what you need. But again, that's extreme. So, really... magic, or the dark arts, really falls into a gray zone. Some would say that there is "white magic" (used to heal and help) and "black magic" (used to curse and destroy), or that as long as its for the good of others its ok, but anything for yourself its evil... there is really no end to the argument. The best thing you can do is take some time to seriously think about it for yourself, if necessary, ask a priest or reverend if some particular act was a sin, and go on with your life. In generally, I can tell you Christianity/Catholocism and Magic don't mix, so you may have to pick which one you believe and if you're willing to pay the price for being wrong.
