All REAL magic is a sin. God created us the way he wanted. He is the only one who can do everything. By practicing any type of magic (witchcraft, ouiji board, black and white magic, etc.) we're saying that we want to be like god and maybe better.

Practicing white magic is not a sin at all. Simply because one is essentially asking beneficent spirits (or "God" if you are a Judeo-Christian-Muslim) to project positive energy in some way and for a beneficial or altruistic purpose.
But isn't that what happens when someone prays for someone else?

"White" magic is a form of witchcraft and is not of God. In Exodus 7 Aaron performed a miracle by turning rods into snakes. But when the magicians performed this act is it described as "enchantment" (Exodus 7:11). Enchantment is a form of witchcraft. The Bible clearly states that witchcraft is a sin (1 Samuel 15:23, Galatians 5:20). Futhermore, to call a form of magic "white" makes the suggestion that it is good or innocent. The truth is that magic is magic and it is not of God even if it is perceived to be for a "good purpose." Isaiah 5:20 warns us about calling evil things good. Besides, all good things come from God such as healing and love. If you truly trust him seek Him for those things, not magic.
