hi
mercon v i don't think so
all the gear boxes that specify 1375.4 fluid are manufactured by zf
and model being 6hp26 and 6hp28
they all recomend their own manufacturer's oem fluid or lifegaurd 6 fluid
the cheapest and Ford and Lincoln recommends mercon sp in their cars using this gearbox so i think mercon v is not similar
mercon sp is only fluid used in this box other than oem and lg6 so that maybe shell 1375.4 but not confirmed
No
Mercon. Do not use Mercon V, as they are not interchangable. Use only Mercon.Mercon. Do not use Mercon V, as they are not interchangable. Use only Mercon.
No. The Transaxle in a 1988-2006 Ford Taurus must use MERCON V. Both the AX4N and AX4S transaxle can ONLY use MERCON V. The power steering system also utilizes the MERCON V Fluid. The Power Steering system can ONLY use MERCON V.MERCON V is the latest MERCON Specification. All MERCON Fluids have been discontinued and replaced with the new MERCON V standard.IMPORTANT: Systems requiring MERCON V ARE NOTbackwards compatible with MERCON fluid. Do NOT use MERCON fluid in a system designed for use with MERCON V Fluid. However, Systems requiring MERCON fluid, can use MERCON V fluid. Ford issued a TSB stating that MERCON V supersedes(and surpasses) all MERCON requirements.
one is for gm and mercon is ford now days they make a dexron mercon mix acceptable to both Dexron III and Mercon V have different specs. You should not use Dexron III in place of Mercon V.
Fluid for that car is Mercon V. Not Mercon III as used in earlier cars, but Mercon V.
mercon or mercon V
Yes . . . All dextron iii applications can use mercon v

Depends on which transmission you have and if it is a Manual or Automatic. Some Ford manual transmissions use A/T fluid and some use Manual Lube. Below is a list of A/T's and what they use. Either Mercon or MV. Unless you have an owners manual which will tell you, or know the transmission you have, I suggest you call your local Ford dealer. 1993-1996 automatic transmission: MERCON automatic transmission fluid (NOT MERCON V) 1993-2005 manual transmission: MERCON automatic transmission fluid (NOT MERCON V)
Use Mercon V synthetic ATF. They make a friction modifier for regular ATF that gives it the same fluid properties as Mercon V, but I recommend using the real thing. The real deal is synthetic, and it is more reliable and lasts longer.
These 2 fluids are totally different. Mercon is bascially Dexron. Mercon V is a synthetic. Yor car more than likely uses Mercon V, but I am not 100% sure. Look in your owner's manul or call your local Ford dealer. The type fluid you use is critical and you want to be 100% correct.
