Pilates is a great exercise to work the abs.However Some people may disagree. It targets different areas in the abs which makes it an excellent way to help tone muscles.
The Pilates Method is the best form of exercise to tone & strengthen the abdominals/core.
When performed consistantly the Pilates abdominal series is all you need ;)

it is always good to get the exercise with crunches but does not help get abs. it will help your stomach get tougher though so the more you work on it the tougher your stomach will get, but you wont have abs!

Try a pilates class at your local gym or do crunches. im 12 and at my school we have a pilates class. it works really well :)
There are a lot of abs exercise that give you a six pack. One good excerise is the bicycle situps.
