There are a great many jobs you can get if you are currently a double major of sociology and psychology. You could be a psychologist or sociologist for example.
If you're like me (a psych major), sociology is too conceptual. There aren't a whole lot of hard numbers and solid facts. Sociology basically says "this is how society is, because the people have made it like that", whereas psychology (and to an extent, biology) give you the actual reasons WHY people have made it so.
Peter Berger's major contribution to sociology was his work on the social construction of reality, which focused on how individuals collectively create and maintain shared meanings and interpretations of the world. His ideas helped to shape the field of sociology by highlighting the importance of understanding how society's norms and values influence human behavior and interactions. Berger also made significant contributions to the study of religion and modernity, exploring the role of religion in modern society and the ways in which it shapes individuals' perceptions of the world.

Studying sociology under the category of planning means you are likely focusing on how social structures, institutions, and processes influence urban and regional planning, public policy, and community development. This involves understanding how social factors such as inequality, power dynamics, and cultural values impact the planning and implementation of policies and projects that shape the physical and social environment.

One major theme of analysis in sociology today is social inequality, focusing on examining how social factors like race, class, and gender contribute to disparities in opportunities and outcomes. Another important theme is globalization, exploring how interconnectedness across borders influences societies and individuals. Additionally, the impact of technology on social interactions and structures is a prevalent area of study in contemporary sociology.
