How did Islam address the fundamental problems in Arabian society?
Islam addressed fundamental problems in Arabic society by uniting all Arabian tribes who were at constant was with each other. It turned Arabia from an ignorant society to a flourishing peaceful society. They stopped tribal prejudice, burring little girls alive, drinking, and avenging through waging wars. Islam addresses the fundamental problems not only in the Arabian society but all over the world. As an evidence on this fact is that the Arab Muslims are minority (less than 15%) compared to total Muslims in the world. Islam addressed the fundamental problems in Arabian society and all over the world through the Quran and prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sayings and practices.

How did Muhammad's teachings affect early Arabian society?
It's hard to say, for these two reasons. (1) We don't know much about pre-Islamic society. Most of the surviving records are by Muslims. (2) It is difficult to distinguish Muhammad's teachings from the fact that Muhammad conquered Arabia and ruled the society by force. The reality of military rule, rather than any teachings about theology or morality, was probably the biggest change to Arabian society.
