yes, it is definitely value for your money.
I have been using the tom tom system for a number of years, and had recently purchased a tom tom one for my wife.
She loves having it along when she is out of town, as she finds she can wander anywhere in a new city, and always find her way back to the hotel. Having the POI feature also cuts down on a lot of searching for gas stations, banks, malls, parking, museums etc.
