I am a current University of Phoenix student, and from my experiences the University of Phoenix is a good shcool. Once you request information an Enrollment Advisor will contact you to answer any questions you may have. Once enrolled you will have a Finacial Aid Advisor and an Academic advisor that is there to support you. The school is regionally accredited. All of the instructors I've had are very knowledgeable of the subject they are teaching and they do (for the most part) care about the students' education. The University of Phoenix has gotten a lot of bad publicity that I think is undeserved. The course work is challenging and you will learn if you apply yourself. The online nature of U of P is excellent for people trying to balance work and family life with school. The cliche "you get out what you put into it" applies to any type of online or distance learning. One significant drawback to the U of P is learning teams. In every class students are required to work as part of a team. I have been on several teams where not all team members pull their weight. Most of the work falls on the shoulders of the hardest working students, and the entire team receives the same grade. This allows too many students to coast and receive good grades because of someone else's efforts. My advise is to do you research on several schools and then make a decision. Don't rely on the accuracy of rumors circulating on the internet.
