Who was The Wind in the Willows book wrote for?

Juveniles. it is essentially an animal cartoon in novel form. decades later this was done with POPEYE in prose, no less. with some threadbare educational stuff, Popeye was hired as a technical advisor for a movie about pirates, as I recall. Novel was published by Whitman. Wind in the Willows was firstly a novel in the style of an animal cartoon. Popeye is not, strictly speaking an Animal cartoon, but did have animal supporting characters- Eugene the Jeep.

What is the writing style of Wind in the Willows?

Childish. It is essentially an animal cartoon ( like the Looney Tunes type) written, not as a comic book- but as a novel. If kids could read that well, they could handle a novel about people- say the Hardy Boys, the various works of Verne, etc. The animal-cartoon presentation type-casts a ( Kiddyland) atmosphere of childish fantasy.

What is the book The Wind in the Willows about?

Essentially is is an animal cartoon- in novel form. There are a variety of anthropomorphic animal characters ( Toad, Rat, Badger, etc)who are all-male, form a sort of social club -but without any female companions-and engage in various activities. Toad gets involved in auto theft in some versions. It is essentially an animal cartoon written as a novel- and the impossibilities are glossed over as they seem to exist paralelling Edwardian society.

The wind in the willows kenneth?

Kenneth Grahame was the creator of the story. It is essentially an animal cartoon written as a novel. On the other hand.. Disney took the story of Robin Hood ( in a cartoon version) and had all the major characters animalized) This was done long after the death of Walt Disney, proper. It did not go over very well, as might be imagined. ( Disney Robin Hood cartoon)

What is the story about the wind and the willows?

The Wind in the willows- not and, is an oddly-titled ( I still can't figure out why this title was used- it does not remotely suggest the setting or the plot) a sort of more-or-less comedy novel that is written-well the best way to describe it is an Animal cartoon written as a novel ( not a comic book or strip) Animal characters fairly frequently interact with human society, not always for the better- One character, Mr. Toad, is a kleptomaniac and is jailed for auto theft. I can't recall anything like that in say, Bugs Bunny. It is essentially an animal cartoon written as a novel. No Grok.

What is the name of the Disney film based on kenneth grahame story?

I believe you are speaking of the Reluctant Dragon and Mr. Toad. the latter character is a fixture in the Grahame novel-as-animal-cartoon opus- The Wind in the Willows. It deals with essentially a social club of male animals who are obviously gentlemen of leisure- none has a regular job. They pursue a variety of activities. It always struck me that if kids were old enough to read this stuff, they could handle it better as a folk novel about people- such as Tom Sawyer or something of that ilk. an Animal cartoon as a novel- not a good idea.

The wind in the willows problem?

HOMOSEXUALITY. It is obvious. there is a sort of men"s club with four or more Male characters, headed by bigshot Toad, and no female characters. to a much milder extent, this is true also of Winnie-The-Pooh but that is even more childish and animal cartoonish- I always thought that Wind in the willows was essentially a sort of Gay situation comedy written as a novel with overtones of the animal cartoon ( which did not exist at the time in feature-length mode- mov ies barely at the Charlie Chaplin era.

Who wrote the novel He disguised his double-d?

Who are the three bachelor animals friends in the novel 'Wind in the Willows' written by Kenneth Grahame?

The Rat, the Badger, and the Toad are among the he-man charactes, the odd novel is essentially an animal cartoon in novel form, and has no , or no important female characters. plot structured in the early l900"s as autos and gypsy carts of this period are illustrated. I don"t and never did like it. if kids are old enough to read novels why not about people- such as Hardy Boys, Happy Hollisters, etc- there are lingering doubts of a Homosexual orientation in (Wind in the Willows) that is rare in juvenile literature.Nobody has a girl friend, there are no female characters, something is wrong, this also applies to the related (originally UK also) modified Animal cartoon-and converted into one by the Disney studios- Winnie-The POOH. The only female character in that one was Kanga ( a female Kangaroo) the gender of Roo, her offspring was never suggested. this misogynism, well, its not healthy.

Who wrote the The City Mouse And The Suburban Mouse it is a fairy tale?

The tale has many variants and even titles vary, the original was the City mouse and the country mouse. essentially social commentary of two different lifestyles from the animal-cartoon perspective. I don"t llike this stuff and do not feel it is healthy for kids. if you want a story about Joe who lives in Manhattan and somebody else in Highland Park but keep it evently balanced, well maybe. Never did llike the idea of social commentary in animal cartoons- such as ( Wind in the Willows- a novel-as-animal cartoon which seemed to have homosexual overtones, no female characters.

Facts about The Wind in the Willows?

The Title does not give any hint of the plot or substance. the original novel, written around l905 by Kenneth Grahame, was essentially, an animal cartoon written as a novel. I have been exposed to snatches of it, chapters or so in Readers in Grammar and English Books in High school . There are, given some hindsight, some cultural misgivings. There are NO female characters. There are overtones of a sort of homosexual men"s club or associaton. Setting is Edwardian England- I cannot see how the title was derived, it has nothing to do with the plot.
