There is still no hard proof that Atlantis really existed. All that we know is that is had sunk with no trace because of some natural disasters like earthquakes and floods. It is said to have sunk about 12,000 years ago. So no one knows if Atlantis is a real place or not.

maybe no one know's maybe a bunch of people invented it or made it up.But there is still proof

Atlantis is a fabrication by Plato, who described Atlanteans invading the Mediterranean from the western ocean, and were eventually repelled by Athens. He invented it to make a moral tale of Athens as saviour.

Yet people today earnestly look for it. Human beings are very susceptible to scams. They are perpetrated endlessly, and people continue to be suckered in by new ones each year. Fortunately some have end dates, like the millennium bug, but many go on forever. It will be interesting to see how many more years the global warming scare can survive as the fabrications on which it is built are gradually being stripped away.

Where is the city and continent of atlantis?

Plato mentions the continent of Atlantis, which was supposed to be west of the Mediterranean, "the size of Libya and Asia" - Which means the size of North Africa and the Middle East. Many people believe this to be South America. Atlantis was also supposed to be the capital city of the most powerful of the ten kingdoms of the continent of Atlantis. So yes, it can be said that it is a continent.

What was Atlantis?

Technically speaking no one actually knows whether or not Atlantis was real. However it was said to be a lost civilization that was to be far more advanced then the world today. Atlantis was said to be a whole continent. Supposedly, the Greek god Poseidon (god of water) was angry at the city and so submerged it. But what is mysterious is that Atlantis was thought to be in the Bermuda Triangle(the graveyard of the ocean). The Bermuda Triangle is a triangle with points made up of three cities Miami, San Juan PUERTO RICO and Bermuda. It is said that thousands of vessels have disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle; without a trace! Maybe it's the city taking it's revenge on the world but no one will ever know. Instead it will remain a mystery...Written by PianoCullenTo be honest Atlantis was not sunk by Poseidon since Atlantis was his creation and it worshipped only him, from what i have gathered from documentary's and books Atlantis had become such a marvel that the other gods became jealous that Poseidon had made such a perfect creation and they hadn't so they punished Atlantis by sinking it into the sea since they could not punish PoseidonEdited by Irascor

Where was Atlantis located?

Atlantis is mythological and its location is uncertain. It may have been supposed to exist in the Mediterranean Sea, or perhaps in the Atlantic Ocean (which takes its name from Atlantis). A lot of places thought to have been Atlantis could just have been Atlantean colonies. Some people say that it existed off the east coast of South America.
