Related to this is the Shenandoah River in Virginia. It also flows North. From the point where the North and South Rivers join in Port Republic to the mouth of the Potomac in Harpers Ferry W. Va. Interestingly, the point of origin in Port Republic is at a lower elevation than Harpers Ferry and so it appears that the Shenandoah travels its entire path UPHILL!!! This is a deception however. This flow of the river helped to conquer North America, made it possible to develop into a Country and played a huge part in the Civil War. Today, it is the only other location where Coors could find water quality and temperature suitable for a brewery outside of Colorado.
