The Poseidon of course, was a fictional ship in the movie The Poseidon Adventure. The film makers used the RMS Queen Mary as a "stand in" or backdrop for the film. The RMS Queen Mary is 1,194 feet LOA (length overall) and the RMS Titanic was 882 LOA. So one could argue that although fictional, the portrayal of the Poseidon by the Queen Mary made it longer than the real Titanic.
The R.M.S. Titanic was a very fast cruise liner for its day, with a cruising speed of 21 kn (39 km/h; 24 mph) and a top speed of 24 kn (44 km/h; 28 mph). This speed still rivals today's average cruise ship speeds. She was well on her way to setting a new trans-Atlantic crossing record when she struck an iceberg and sunk.
Queen Elizabeth was older than Mary Queen of Scots who was the daughter of her cousin. Elizabeth was born 1533 and Mary 1542. Elizabeth also had a half-sister Mary (Bloody Mary).
No. The German liner Imperator was launched 5 weeks after the Titanic's sinking. Imperator was about 30 feet longer than Titanic. Today, the largest ships in the world are probably the big container ships and oil tankers. Queen Mary II I think is the biggest passenger ship at 150,000 tons. She is much larger than the Titanic.nope
