There are 8 freeze plugs total.
There's 2 in the back of the block, you will have to remove the transmission and fly-wheel to get to them. when you look at the back of the block you will see a plug on each side of the block. The big plug in the middle of the block is a cam plug, DO NOT BOTHER IT, LEAVE IT ALONE.
Now there is 2 plugs on each side of the block, up above where the oil pan bolts on. 1 of them on each side are hidden behind the motor mounts. REMOVE MOUNTS
The other 2 of them you can see, but you will need to remove the starter to get to one of them. Now that's 6 of the 8 freeze plugs.
The other 2 are on the front of the engine, 1 on each side of the timing cover. You will have to remove whatever is in the way to get to them.
It is a BIG JOB and a MAJOR JOB to replace them all. So this is where there all at.
I HOPE THIS HELPS NEUTZ
because frost is bad for batteries... maybe try another battery and it'll come up. Don't choke too much, get it on then increase rpm to keep it on. Never let go till it's warm!

I have a 1992 Olds with the 3800 engine; the block heater is almost inaccessible. The engine is sideways and the block heater is in the frost plug location just over the frame at the back. Suggestion: unless it is leaking just take the frost plug out in the front of the engine and install the block heater there where it is accessible. Duane
