In hundreds of engines I have never seen a freeze plug behind the timing plate. They are almost always on the sides of the block, low down.
On the 2.7 eng. it is behind the timing chain plate in the very front of the engine. It is also run using the timing chain.
its behind the timing cover and reads a plate between two crankshaft sprockets
Nissan n16 engines have a timing chain located behind a cover plate just above the water pump
The cover over the points / timing set plate on the right side of the bike.
if the timing plate was taken off then just take off the timing cover and there will be notches on the timing gears so u can time it from there
The thermostat is located in the water pump behind the timing belt plate cover. the thermostat is in the bottom rad hoase where it conects to the motor.
To adjust the timing on a 1997 Yamaha Warrior YFM350, first, ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. Remove the timing cover to access the timing marks on the flywheel and the ignition timing plate. Loosen the bolts on the timing plate, rotate it to align the timing marks as needed, and then tighten the bolts securely. Finally, recheck the timing to ensure it is correctly set before reassembling the cover.
they are behind the water pump looking strait down from the top of the engine
Slide in under the front bumber and remove the skid plate so you can see the front bottom pulley on the engine. Now look behind the harmonic balancer at the passenge side of the timing chain cover and you will see it. It is held in the timing cover with 1 bolt. It will have electrical connector pluged into it.
for the cam gears its right on the upper timing belt cover plate, and for the crank, theres a mark on the crank collar
There is a plate behind the magneto wheel that has usaully three screws holding it in place. losen the three screws and the timing plate will slide ahead (front) or behind (back). You should not mess with this if dont know what u r u doing cause u will mess ur timing up and then u will more problems.
The oil pump is behind the cam plate, which is behind the gear cover (nosecone).
