To adjust the timing on a 1997 Yamaha Warrior YFM350, first, ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. Remove the timing cover to access the timing marks on the flywheel and the ignition timing plate. Loosen the bolts on the timing plate, rotate it to align the timing marks as needed, and then tighten the bolts securely. Finally, recheck the timing to ensure it is correctly set before reassembling the cover.

A yamaha warrior does not have a timing. If it is backfiring like mine you have to get a diagnostics and something in the electrical system their is a switch that is turned off. IF you take it to a shop it will run you about 80-200 $$. I learned all this yesterday. Hope this helps. Antonio H
You set cam timing on a Yamaha big bear 350 4x4, by opening up the bike chassis and looking for the cam timing levers. You can adjust it up or down until you have it set to how you want it.
To set the timing on a Yamaha 350 Warrior, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder one. Remove the left side cover to access the timing marks on the flywheel and the stator. Align the timing mark on the flywheel with the mark on the stator, adjusting the stator's position if necessary. Finally, securely tighten the stator bolts and reassemble the cover, ensuring everything is properly aligned.
To set the timing on a Yamaha G2 golf cart, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the timing inspection plug and use a timing light to check the timing mark on the flywheel against the mark on the engine case. Adjust the timing by loosening the ignition coil mounting screws and rotating the coil until the desired timing is achieved. Finally, tighten the screws and recheck the timing to ensure it is correctly set.
To check and adjust the timing on a 2004 Yamaha TTR 225, first, remove the left side cover to access the timing chain and flywheel. Rotate the engine to align the timing mark on the flywheel with the mark on the case, ensuring the piston is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke. If the timing needs adjustment, loosen the ignition timing plate bolts and rotate the plate slightly until the desired timing is achieved, then retighten the bolts. Recheck the alignment to confirm the adjustment before reassembling the engine cover.
