I believe there is no fuse just for the cruise control. The cruise control circuit is covered by the PCM. However, I would check the switches on the brake pedal.
Possible clockspring failure.
You need to have someone with a scan tool check the airbag system for trouble codes. The airbag system is not a place for do it your selfers.
if cruise control and horn aren't working...i bet it's the clock spring..check if there is a recall on it
I have been doing a little research here, and my cruise control quits working when the airbag light goes on and stays lit. I just went to the dodge.com site and checked for recall information under the owner services tab. Turns out the previous owner never had the recall items repaired. It could be a problem with the control, but I am feeling more like it is clockspring related.
Probably a bad clockspring, be carefull that probably meens you're airbag is out of function too, Does the airbag light come on?
The repair will depend on what part of the cruise control is broken.
Faulty air bag, see the dealer!!! It could also mean there is a faulty airbag clockspring, this is located in the hub of the steering wheel, and can cause an open circuit which allows the light to stay on. This is covered in a recall issued by Dodge. The horn and/or cruise control could also be affected. I know this because we recently (03/26) purchased a '99 Dodge Caravan. The airbag light was on. We then noticed that the horn was nonfunctional. After doing some research online I found information on the recall, it also mentioned that the cruise control. Lo and behold, the next time I drove it, the cruise control didn't work. I contacted my local Dodge dealer and the problem was fixed at no charge!! The airbag light is off, the horn and cruise control both work.
I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan: Just fixed June 12th,The Airbag light was staying on,the the horn went as well as the cruise control, It is called the CLUTHCH CLOCK that was replace on mine: It is located in your steering Wheel,Not a do it yourself job, It is where you airbag is, cost $129.99 for the part in Canada about an hours work if you know what your doing.
If it were me I would take the air bag back out and make sure the wires arn't "pinched" or broken and make sure that it has a good tight connection with the clockspring connector. If that doesnt solve it then the airbag control unit has failed for somereason. Hope this helps some.
2004 sebring convertable cruise control not working - what to do?
On the steering wheel by the airbag
We had that problem. I was the clockspring in the steering column. Eventually the airbag light came on and cruise control stopping working. Bought our Caravan used and discovered there was an old recall that had not been done. Check the internet, you should not have to pay to get the dealer to fix it.
