The fact of the matter is - according to the letter of the law you can be ticketed on the first day they expire. UNOFFICIALLY - most law enforcement and courts MIGHT allow you up to 2-3 weeks past expiration, and might let you off with a warning, but anything past that timeframe is pretty unlikely.
