If there is, I haven't found it. I suggest you get a FACTORY SHOP MANUAL from E-bay or MOTORLIT.COM and they will tell you how. I don't think the manuals from the parts stores will have that in them.

When a meter stops working its not the meter that's broken it's the cables and circuits that control power the meter their should be a cable underneath the plastic that protects the meters follow that and replace it and it should be ok.

Like almost every car manufactured after about 1985 or so, the Prizm doesn't have a distributor (assuming reference is being made to the electrical sytem component). The Prizm is fuel-injected.
It is built into the alternator. I would just replace the alternator.
