Dial a caller ID block code before the phone number. In the USA, dial *67 proceeding the number. In the UK, dial 141. So for example if you need to call 212-555-5555, Dial *67-212-555-555 instead. Your caller will see a message that says "caller ID blocked."
Type *67 then the number you're going to call. This doesn't work for texts though.
In England you use the numbers 147 before the phone number, this withholds your phone number. Most mobiles have the option for you to choose to withhold your number or not.
