A khichari cleanse with some castor oil at the end made my bad cramps disappear. Keep a clean digestive system, and don't eat cold foods or invert yourself during your period.

There are lots of different ways, and each apply differently to everyone. Try getting a hot water bottle, lying down and placing it on your stomache. Also, paracetamol is good.

I went vegetarian 3 months ago and I haven't had a cramp since. There's a chemical in meat that your kidneys keep trying to get rid of during your period, but if you stop eating meat at least two weeks before you'll definitely see the difference- I guarantee it. The only problem I had is not knowing what to do with my left over box of Midol.

There are numerous ways to reduce your cramps. Many medications work for many girls. ibuprofen such as Advil and Motrin seem to work best though many girls got relief from Midol, Pamprin, Tylenol and Aleve.

A great many girls preferred home remedies such as apply heat, ice, or pressure to thier abdomen.

Mild exercise such as walking or stretching helped also.

Ointments such as Tiger Balm, Icy Hot, etc. There are many of these OTC remedies at retailers.

Also eating foods high in potassium such as bananas helped many gilrs.

Staying away from heavy, salty, greasy foods around your period will help also because they can cause bloating which will only make your cramps feel even worse.

Does it hurt when you start you period?

It can hurt, but not necessarily. Some women experience menstrual cramps when they menstruate - these are caused by certain hormones that cause the uterus to contract to push out menstrual flow, if you produce more of these hormones or are more sensitive to these hormones you can experience more painful menstrual cramps.
