yes there is an ECM plug in engine bay take cover off and plug a jumper wire to these 2 pins .. jump pin 2 to test wire as shown in diagram .. then go inside the van and turn the key to on (dont start) and the check engine will start to flash .. read the flashes.

From '96 up the Tauri (and all cars) had OBD2 systems, which (I believe) can not be read without a scanner. Many chain auto parts stores will check codes on these cars for free.
