Free nitrogen is in the air but fixed nitrogen is in the soil.

What is the difference between between air and oxygen?

Normal air is 20% oxygen, 79% nitrogen, and 1% other gasses.

What difference between normal air V's nitrogen in car tires?

Nitrogen is much more stable in all temperatures and better for high speed driving.

What is the difference between nitrogen in the atmosphere and liquid nitrogen?

Liquid nitrogen is made by taking in air from the atmosphere and compressing and cooling it. Once it is cool enough, it forms a liquid. This liquid contains argon, oxygen and nitrogen. These elements are then separated and sold as a commodity. The temperature is the only difference.

Does nitrogen compress like air?

The air we breathe is mostly nitrogen, so yes. Nitrogen acts almost exactly the same as nitrogen mixed with a little oxygen. The major difference is that nitrogen will have less moisture then straight air.

What is the difference between inflating a tire with nitrogen and regular air?

The rubber used in tires is somewhat more permeable to oxygen than it is to nitrogen, so inflating tires with nitrogen keeps them at their recommended inflation pressure longer.

What is the relationship between nitrogen oxygen air?

Air is approximately 80% Nitrogen, 19% oxygen and 1% others

The way nitrogen moves between the air soil plants and animals is called the?

nitrogen cycle

What organisms return nitrogen back into the air?

The organisms that are involved in the movement of nitrogen between the air and soil and back to the air are plants and bacteria. When plants decompose they release nitrogen and bacteria fixes nitrogen back into the air.

Does nitrogen contain air?

Nitrogen doesn't contain air, but the air contains Nitrogen.

Double-pane windows have nitrogen gas or very dry air between the panes Why is ordinary air a poor idea?

Double-pane windows have nitrogen gas or very dry air between the panes for a very specific reason. Ordinary air will build up moisture between the panes.

What is the difference between free nitrogen and fixed nitrogen and why is this important?

All life forms need nitrogen to grow. Animals can get it from eating plants. But plants must get it from the soil. Fixed nitrogen (in the forms of nitrate ions - NO3-) is the only type of nitrogen that can be found in the soil.Note that nitrogen (as a gas - N2) makes up most of the air. Most plants can not use it because the molecules are triple-bonded.
