"ra" means: "Radhi Allahu Anhu" (may Allah be pleased with him)

"as" means: "Alayhe-ssalaam" (Peace be upon him)

'Radhi Allahu Anhu' is for the Companions of the Prophet, so it is the correct thing to say. The other saying, 'Alayhe-ssalaam' is for a Prophet only, so it is wrong to say for Ali.

Some misguided Shiah - those who think they are Muslims but are actually away from some important Islamic teachings - may use "Alayhe-ssalaam" for Ali, out of their ignorance. They are wrong (as they are wrong about a whole lot of things).

Apart from many basic differences with the Shias, there is no harm in using AS with Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Abu Bakr AS, Hazrat Umar AS if the idea behind it is not that they were Prophets. But if the idea behind using AS with only Hazrat Ali is that he was also a Prophet (Allah forbid), then it is utterly the faith of Non-believers. Our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is the last prophet of Islam. He once said,"Had there been a prophet after me, it would have been Umar. But there is no prophet after me."

Why did hazrat ali went to war against hazrat ayesha?

seems like you don't have any first hand research or information about jang e jamal.Your question should be rephrased as follows:Why did hazrat ayesha went to war against hazrat ALi A.S.initaially Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Ayesha did not agreed but later on they negotiated and both of them agreed on taking revenge of Hazrat Othman's death. but a third party, who was provoking one of them, felt danger in this friendship and created misunderstanding by attacking their men.The third party attacked the army of Aisha (R.A) at night and said that Aishah (R.A)'s army attacked them first so due to misunderstanding war began which ended again on friendship of both the Aisha(R.A) and Ali(R.A)the answer of your question is they fought because of misunderstanding

Sunnis are offshoots of kharji sect of Islam?

Absolutely not! they are different from all aspects. Sunnis never abuse any Sahabi. instead Kharji are nearest to Shiah (who abuses all sahaba except some) and Kharji do the same for Most of Sahaba including Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Muawia and their base is Hadith " One who pick arm agaist Muslim ( to kill ) is not from us" So they believe that Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Muawia both were (nauzubillah) out of Islam.

Why do some Shiites hate Hazrat Abu-Bakr Hazrat Usman and Hazrat Ali?

I am not aware of any Shiite who hates Caliph 'Ali. Perhaps you are asking why some Shiites hate Caliphs Abu-Bakr, 'Omar, and 'Othman. Those Shiites who do opposed these leaders do so because they believe that Mohammed intended 'Ali to succeed him and these three individuals conspired with other Muslims to prevent 'Ali's ascendance as Caliph. They consider the shura or election that led to Abu-Bakr's appointment and the direct appointments of 'Omar and 'Othman to be a violation of the true nature of Mohammed's succession.

Did Ali help Prophet Muhammad write the Qur'an?

The holy Qur'an has NOT been written by any human being. It is the Word of Almighty Allah (GOD). It is a heavenly book revealed to the last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). Hazrat Ali RAU was a child of 10 or 11 years old when the revelation of the Qur'an to Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) started. In fact, no Prophet of Almighty God himself wrote a book. The message of Allah Almighty was revealed to them mostly by Arch Angel Hazrat Gabriel (AS).

Where is Sword of hazrat Ali?

God ! Have lots of secrets to keep himself undiscoverable from us cause we guys are not so pure as GOD is and he always had been talking to those (Prophits) he selected cause he made them purly clean from any sin. Recall history..........You'll find that they had no bad habits, their hearts were directed towards Allah (The God). Allah says to all prophits that KEEP THIS IN YOUR MIND THAT HAZRAT MUHAMMAD (PBUH) HAD ALWAYS BEEN LOVED AND WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED BY ME & THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT YOU ALL LOVE ME AND MYSELF I LOVE MUHAMMAD (Peace be upon Him) AND EVERY BODY LOVED BY MY LOVE (Hazrat Imam Ali a.s(cousin & son in law), Bibi Fatima s.a (daughter), Hazrat Imam Hassan a.s (1st Grand son) & Hazrat Imam Hussain a.s (2nd Grand son) AND MUHAMMAD (PBUH) IS YOUR LEADER ALSO. So I must tell you that this Sword of Hazrat Ali was sent by God and now is in custudy of God cause we need to be very pure and clean to keep it but unfortunatly we are not so when Imam Mehdi a.s will be back the Sword will be in his hand (INSHA ALLAH). You must believe it Syed Ali Raza Naqvi

Why shias dont love to Hazrat Abu bakar Hazrat Umer faarooq Hazrat bibi Aisha r.a and Hazrat Usman ghani r.a why do they say anab shanab to them is this not wrong?

The shia believe that Hazrat Ali was the rightful successor of the Prophet and was appointed as the Caliph by Hazrat Muhammad at the event of Ghadeer. See link below.Based on this, they believe that the three caliphs were unjustified in their actions of taking up (or accepting) the caliphate. The shia beliefs strictly follows sayings and rulings of Hazrat Ali after Hazrat Muhammad as they believe Ali was the religious authority after Hazrat Muhammad and they believe he was the first Imam ( a designation that they believe is a form of caliphate appointed by God).So its natural that they would not consider any person in Islamic history as rightful if they find that person stood up against Ali. In presence of many such events and personalities they favour Ali in all the instance and show disassociation with others. Some shia go to extremes because some events have been reported in history that disturb them. Some of these are:Hazrat Umar denying pen and paper to Hazrat Muhammad when Hazrat Muhammad wanted to write something that would help keep the Ummah united ( reported in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)The event of Saqifa where Hazrat Abu Bakar was appointed Caliph by a group of companions in the absence of Hazrat AliThe event of Fidak which was a land owned by Hazrat Fatima , the daughter of the Prophet , and taken away by the caliphs because they ruled that the Prophet has no successionThe event of setting Hazrat Fatima's house on fire and death of her son Hazrat MohsinThe battle of Jamal where Hazrat Aisha lead an army against Hazrat AliThe battle of Siffin where Hazrat Ameer Muawiya fought against Hazrat AliThe shia have great respect for the Prophet and his family and due to all above events they disassociate themselves from the people who were against the Prophet's family. However their Ulema do not approve of use of abusive language for these personalities for the sake of unity of the Muslim Ummah. However the practice of 'disassociation' with these personalities has the approval from the Ulema as well.Comment in the aboveAll the above is a kind of history that its authentication is not completely validated. It enough to state two facts: Ali (Allah be pleased with him) was the strongest supporter to the three Caliphs who proceeded him (Abou Bakr-Omar-Othman). Some, I don't find reason for any enmity or conflicts between Shiites and Sunnis. Both Sunnis and Shiites believe in Quran and all Islamic pillars and differ only on minor historical issues. So, Both Shiites and Sunnis are basically one entity, Refer to question below.
