I highly suspect that the rifle has an octagon (8-sided) barrel. The October 7th, '79 patent date strongly points towards the rifle being a Browning or Winchester Single Shot rifle. The serial number on the barrel or the lower tang will help solve the mystery.
It will be eight sided, thus the name hexagon barrel.
It is tapered. Diameter is different at different points. Usually this question arises when someone is shopping for a muzzle brake. Those made for the SKS and Mosin/Nagant have a straight sided barrel, and will not work on Remington.
Not without a DETAILED description of ALL markings, condition, etc..

Serbia and Austria got into a fight. Russia sided with Serbia as Serbia's "big brother". France and Russia were friends so France joined in. Germany and Austria were friends so Germany sided with Austria. Then Germany invaded Belgium (who tried to stay impartial) to attack France. Britain got involved as there was a contract/agreement between Belgium and Britain from a 100ish years ago saying that Britain will help protect Belgium in a war (Britain felt left out) then America joined later. so in odder of who joined first Serbia Austria Russia Germany France Belgium Britain America
The collector value can only be assessed by a visual inspection & evaluation. Old Winchesters are very much like old classic automobiles... the graded condition and factory originality are the key factors in determining what they are truly worth. The barrel is actually octagon (8-sided) versus hexagon (6-sided).

Italy, Japan and Russia (for a while) Russia & Germany signed a non aggression pact & each occupied Poland in 1939. but they were on opposing sides in Russias war against Finland. Hungay, Rumania, Bulgaria all supplied forces for the axis.
The Winchester Model 94 was never manufactured in the 32-20 (32 W.C.F.) cartridge, but the Model 92 was. The barrel is actually octagon (8-sided) versus hexagon (6-sided). No way to answer without the serial number.
