Well, yes, in fact, many Tamils are Jehovah's Witnesses. I happen to have a good friend who is a Tamil, and he is a Jehovah'ss Witness. Tamil does not refer to a religion. A Tamil is one who belongs to an ethnic group in India. Most Tamils are of the Hindu faith. A Jehovah's Witness would not join themselves (in a romantic relationship) to a person of another faith, so the religion is the key, not the ethnicity of the person. Whether a person is dark skinned, light skinned, Tamil or otherwise would not be a problem for a Jehovah's Witness. It would be the religion of the other person that would matter to the Jehovah's Witness.

I grew up as a Jehovahs witness and I always felt worse when people made a huge deal in making thing separate. All people are different in their beliefs and some are more strict then others, but in general Jehovahs witnesses are kind and will resectfully back away if there is anything that they feel uncomfortable with. Just talk to the person, I am sure they will let you know how they feel, and where they draw the line. For the most part though they will not take part of any holiday events and if they have been practiceing long they will be use to not being involved.
