Visit Google Maps and type in the location of an urban sighting--then use the satellite feature, and move you perspective back a bit---it's surprising how much "green space" there can be in and around the edges of cities, especially if you count in creeks and rivers. It's easy to see how the green spaces are connected.
I did this for the city of Rochester, where I know there've been a few sightings. It was obvious that the animal(s) could easily move from one suburb to another, and even to the lake (Ontario), using everything from back yards and Golf courses to bike paths and canals. Even a person could go undetected, if he moved around only at night.
